About
Timeless aesthetics. Enduring results.
Dr. Alexander T. Wilson is a resident plastic and reconstructive surgeon, scientist, and author whose work is grounded in a simple conviction: that beautiful outcomes begin with a deep understanding of facial architecture. During his medical training at Yale, he dedicated additional years to earning a doctorate in facial morphology from Erasmus University Rotterdam under the mentorship of renowned craniofacial surgeon Irene Mathijssen — immersing himself in the geometry of the human face, the mathematics of proportion, and the structural principles that define natural harmony. It is a foundation that shapes everything he does in the operating room.
Dr. Wilson is currently completing his integrated plastic surgery residency at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania, where he is entering his final year to serve as chief resident. His training spans the full scope of plastic and reconstructive surgery — the face, breast, and body — and he is now accepting cosmetic patients through Penn's chief resident cosmetic clinic. He is actively pursuing fellowship training in aesthetic facial plastic surgery, with a clinical focus on facelift, rhinoplasty, and eyelid surgery.
What distinguishes Dr. Wilson's approach is not any single technique, but a deep understanding of facial architecture which allows him to create a bespoke plan for each individual patient. Each consultation begins with careful structural analysis — of proportion, of skeletal foundation, of how a face has changed over time and what it needs to appear refreshed and naturally restored. He believes that surgery planned with precision and patience produces results that are not just beautiful, but enduring — changes that enhance without announcing themselves, that restore without erasing. The commitment to understanding the root cause of facial changes is, for Dr. Wilson, where great surgery begins.

"The intersection of science and artistry defines exceptional surgery — understanding the face deeply enough to reshape it with both precision and restraint."
Alexander T. Wilson, MD, PhD
Clinical Focus
Primary and revision rhinoplasty with a focus on functional-aesthetic harmony. Author of the Rhinoplasty chapter in McGraw Hill's Cosmetic Surgery textbook. Training in both open and endonasal approaches at Penn.
Comprehensive facial rejuvenation through modern facelift techniques that restore youthful contour while preserving natural expression. Emphasis on deep-plane approaches for lasting, elegant results.
Targeted correction of neck laxity, platysmal banding, and submental fullness to create a refined, defined jawline and cervicomental angle — performed as a standalone procedure or in conjunction with facelift surgery.
Upper and lower eyelid surgery to address hooding, puffiness, and under-eye changes. Careful attention to preserving the natural character of the eye while achieving a refreshed, rested appearance.
Endoscopic and open brow lift techniques to elevate a descended brow, smooth forehead lines, and restore harmony to the upper face. Tailored to each patient's unique anatomy and aesthetic goals.
Precise upper lip shortening procedures to enhance vermilion show, improve lip proportion, and restore a youthful relationship between the nose and upper lip — with meticulous scar placement for discreet healing.
Evidence-based non-surgical facial rejuvenation including neuromodulators, dermal fillers, and skin resurfacing. Evaluation with 3D imaging quantification to deliver subtle, natural enhancements with minimal downtime.
